Historic Town Tour & Exit Glacier

Learn the history of Seward along with true personal stories of life in the last frontier. Your local driver/guide will regale you with humor while pointing out places of interest on this fully narrated tour. Explore the area on this drive from the dock, through the boat harbor, downtown, and then along the 12 mile drive up the beautiful Resurrection Valley to Exit Glacier in the Kenai Fjords National Park.

This small coastal fishing community on the Kenai Peninsula was discovered in 1791 by Russian fur trader, Alexander Baranov, and “officially” discovered as the southern terminus for the Alaska Railroad in 1903.

Seward is the hometown of the Alaska State Flag and famous for the nation’s 2nd oldest foot race, the Mt. Marathon Race, as well as the Alaska SeaLife Center which came about from the 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.

Exit Glacier

Explore Exit Glacier, one of the most accessible glaciers by foot in south central Alaska.

A short walk brings you to the glacier’s deep blue crevasses, ice melt streams and panoramic views.

Visit the nature center or explore trails leading to spectacular photo opportunities.

Along the way, keep an eye out for bald eagles, black bear, moose and mountain goats.

Reboard your bus for the scenic drive back to Seward.
